This is a simple Chrome extension that persists and auto-restores the progress of YouTube videos.
I watch a lot of longer YouTube videos and I found it very annoying to lose my progress when I reload tabs, or close the browser.
I originally generated this in a single prompt to ChatGPT Codex after getting a 1 month free Pro subscription. I then took it from there.
The source code is available on GitHub.
Timestamp Goblin does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data.
The extension stores YouTube video progress timestamps and metadata for display (video ID, timestamp, video title, duration, and channel name) only on your device using Chrome’s local extension storage. This data is not sent to any server.
You can delete this data at any time by removing the extension.
